The first meeting of 2012 will be on Wednesday, January 4th at Corsa Cafe inside Western Bikeworks, NW 17th & Lovejoy, Portland. Members, prospective members, and guests are welcome to attend. Coffee and pastries provided.
Our guest for January is Mara Gross, the policy director for the Coalition for a Livable Future. She will be speaking about her work on environmental, livability, and social justice issues in Portland, including efforts to organize for alternatives to the Columbia River Crossing freeway project.

Mara has practiced law in the nonprofit, government and private sectors, and for the last eight years has been a political and social policy advocate. She has advocated on a wide range of issues, and presently much of her work focuses on promoting a sustainable and equitable transportation system. Mara is a graduate of UC Berkeley School of Law, Boalt Hall, and of Wellesley College.
